eco Newsletter: News from the worlds of politics and the Internet economy

eco updated its newsletters in 2025: the new eco update was launched in the autumn and has been published every 14 days since then. It combines the content from the two German-language newsletters previously published – “eco weekly” and “eco politik digital” – and is thus a consolidated all-in-one format for news about the industry, current digital policy issues and our association’s activities.

In addition, the German-language newsletter “eco politik digital” provides all interested parties with political insights from the German Bundestag during sitting weeks. The English-language newsletter eco european offers updates on current trends in Brussels by email, delivered free of charge.

eco Podcast: An Ear to the Internet

A new episode of eco’s German-language podcast “Das Ohr am Netz” (an Ear to the Internet) is released every two weeks, in which we discuss digital topics and the IT sector with guests from politics, academia and business. Sidonie Krug, Member of the Managing Board and Head of Association Communications, together with TV and radio presenter Sven Oswald, welcome the listeners. An in-house PR editorial team prepares the content. Thematically, the episodes cover all aspects of the Internet industry. This includes the potential of digital business models and the use of future technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Quantum Computing. Digital policy processes and challenges also form an important part of the format.

Krug and Oswald interview leading figures in the industry, share insights and highlight various viewpoints and opinions on current debates. The episodes are accompanied by a brief news round-up and an assessment from various voices within the association. In 2025, the podcast once again welcomed high-profile figures from the digital sector as guests, including Digital Minister Dr Karsten Wildberger and President Claudia Plattner from BSI (German Federal Office for Information Security).

All episodes can be listened to in German on the eco website, Spotify, Apple Podcasts or Deezer
