At this year’s eco Summer Party, the traditional networking format was supplemented for the first time by a thematic pre-programme: prior to the main event, thematic sessions on current digital policy issues took place as part of the eco Digital Workshop.

In three breakout sessions, participants discussed key regulatory developments and their significance for the digital economy together with recognised digital experts. The sessions covered the topics “Digital Responsibility in the Age of Fake News, Hate Speech and the Like”, “Digital Sovereignty of Public Administration” and “AI as a Driver of Innovation: Framework Conditions for Germany as an AI Location”.

In the evening, the eco Capital Office’s traditional summer party took place, bringing together representatives from industry, politics and the digital sector. Following the parliamentary summer recess, the networking BBQ provided an opportunity to discuss key topics and trends for the coming months and to deepen the exchange between Berlin’s political circles and the Internet industry in an informal atmosphere.
